If you’re repairing your smile with a dental restoration, you want it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, most dental practices outsource production to an outside lab – so you’ll likely wait several days, or even longer. At All Smiles Dental, we use innovative CEREC technology to provide dental crowns and bridges in Lexington in a single day.Doctor Conrad Crocker on dental crowns and bridges Read Transcript
Typically, with crowns, the traditional crowns were temporary. Had to come back in weeks and get the crown. Since 1999, so for over 20 years now, our office has been able to provide same-day crowns. We were the first in Lexington to actually provide that service. To be able to improve someone's mouth in the same day, in a matter of an hour and a half to two hours, has really helped patients to get the care they need in our busy lives, in our busy schedules. They can get the treatment they need and move on.
Nowadays, bridges are actually becoming less utilized, but there's still a place for them. The traditional replacement of that is with implants, but there are patients that, for health reasons or financial reasons, just don't want an implant or can't have an implant. Then yes, a bridge is a great alternative to give someone, to replace someone's teeth, with something that's what we called fixed, meaning they don't have to take it in and out. They can just set it and forget it.
In addition to receiving your dental crown in far less time, CEREC:
- Allows us to carefully match the color to your other teeth
- Makes the tooth impression process more comfortable for you with its digital scanning technology
- Creates a durable porcelain restoration that should last at least a decade
- Eliminates the need to wear a temporary crown
- Enables us to make any needed modifications right away, with no back-and-forth communication with an outside lab
If you need a dental crown or other restoration, call us today at 803-636-8683. Because our patients’ satisfaction means everything to us, we are early adopters of dental technology. We were the first dental practice in the Lexington area to use CEREC. See what a difference CEREC makes!
Dental Crowns Can Fix Almost Any Kind of Smile Damage
No matter what kind of damage your smile has suffered, there’s a good chance we can repair it with a dental crown. One of the most versatile tools in restorative dentistry, a crown can:
- Mend a cracked or broken tooth
- Cover cosmetic flaws like stains
- Repair cavities that are too large for a filling
- Replace a missing tooth, when attached to a dental implant
- Be used to protect a tooth following a root canal
For teeth that are too decayed for a filling but not damaged enough for a crown, we may suggest either an inlay or an onlay.
With or Without Implants, Replace Teeth With a Dental Bridge
A fixed dental bridge offers a way to replace one tooth or to fill a gap where multiple adjacent teeth were located. Unlike dentures, a bridge isn’t removed for cleaning. Dr. Crocker or Dr. Ahmad will attach a traditional bridge to crowns on your teeth surrounding the gap. Alternatively, a bridge can be supported by dental implants. This eliminates the need to alter your healthy teeth.
